Sometimes life isn't easy, and sometimes it's downright impossible. That's how I felt when I realized I would be responsible for raising my younger sister, Valaria.

When I sensed danger, our parents had ordered me to keep her safe. I ran with her into the woods, keeping her far from harms way. After waiting out for several hours, I brought her home. As we walked closer, I saw their bodies on the ground, the scent of blood thick in the air. 

I tried to hide the horrific sight from Valeria, but she ran to them, seeing the wounds inflicted by the vampires that had attacked them. I held her tight as she cried, wanting more than anything to take away the pain. Though I tried to be strong for her, I found myself shedding a tear as well.

I was faced with the daunting responsibility of raising my six year old sister. It wasn't always easy, but I always did the best I could. When I buried our parents, I made a vow to them to keep her safe no matter the cost. My promise still holds true today, though she is now fully grown. I will always be her guardian.

I currently work at the Solar Cafe in Steam City as a barista.  I love talking to all the customers who come in so don't be shy!
